That Curve

You’re never fully dressed without a smile.
- Martin Charnin-

Here are some fun facts about smiling that I discovered while reading the article
SMILE-It's Good for You! written by Stella Katsipoutis from the Healthy Options Lifestyle News Digest.

1) Frowning exhausts 43 facial muscles while smiling only uses 17 muscles. (imagine the wrinkles!)
Add some laughter and you can increase calorie burn up to 20%. Now ain't that a good exercise?!

2) An average woman smiles about 62 times a day while men smile about 8 times a day only.
So ladies, pls give your men a reason to smile and spare them some heartache :)

3) People smile in 19 different ways. How I wonder. Go Figure!

So here's my look.
Layers over layers? why not!
Just make sure that when wearing styles like this, the colors don't clash,
else you'll look like a clown in no time :)

Balance is key.
Go for neutrals so that the flow of your clothing will be maintained.
I chose Pearls as my accessories for a classic look.

All Girls become beautiful when they smile and i'm sure guys would agree with me in saying that
girls look their best when they wear a smile rather than makeup.

Let every day be a reason for you to smile!

Smile and the world will smile back at you :)

Serge de Nîmes

I'm Back! Sorry for being M.I.A. these past few weeks. My grandpa just passed away and no matter how hard I wanted to hold on, I knew that it was time to let go. So I'm all better now! Thanks to all my family and friends who were right at my side :)

Anyways, what the hell does Serge de Nimes mean ??? I'm sure you guys have a wild guess! Well, whether you get it wrong or right, here's some French lessons. I'm a foreign language teacher for today.

Serge de Nimes = DENIMS
Serge came from the name of a Sturdy Fabric
Nimes is a city in France

Now you know the reason behind the name. It's that simple :)

I'm not a punk nor a rocker or anything like that but who says I can't pull it off with my own kind of style.
I wanted to still look sweet and approachable with my cool and really chill look.

What's great with Denims? It just never goes out of style. It's CLASSIC.
You can pair it with just about anything.
In my case, I just paired it with peach floral shorts and Chucks to complete the look.
It has been years since I wore this shoes again!

How to get the look

Dean Jacket from Plains and Prints
Peach floral shorts from Taylor

I just love my denim jacket from Plains and Prints. It's fashionable and functional at the same time.
For mid-afternoons, a vest would do. Be comfortable and carefree!

But as the night gets cold, you can easily transform the vest into a jacket/ blazer. Isn't that awesome?!!
This Dean Jacket from Plains and Prints has detachable sleeves. Now that's dual fashion rolled into one.

So whatever your style preference is, I'm sure you'll look great!

I bring you some good news my dear readers!
Visit the nearest Plains and Prints branch as I heard that they are on SALE 'til the 30th of January.
I'm sure there will be great finds for everyone :)

FEARLESS

People who know me pretty well will associate me to animal prints.
Some would even throw a joke and call me Cruella.
Well, you and I both know that I've never killed an animal for the sake of fashion :))

Maxi Dress by ISANTI
Shoes from MIA, USA

For me, animal prints are such a classic.
You don't have to accessorize so much because it can do all the talking.
Blame it to psychology, but I actually do feel more confident whenever I wear prints like this.
It's classy and edgy at the same time giving me that good vibe for the rest of the day.

Life truly has its Ups and Downs and honestly I'm scared of what the future holds.
Lately, I've been experiencing lots of not so good news.
One big toll is that of my grandpa being in the hospital.

He has been there ever since Christmas Day.
Come to think of it, he was confined way way earlier and he is still there until now.

Truth is, I think he is in too much pain already.
I guess some things are just beyond our control.
Almost every night I cry myself to sleep.
I guess I'm just scared and I do hope when that time comes...
 I will be ready.

Anyways, sorry about that, I got a little carried away.
I know there's a reason for everything so I try my best to be FEARLESS
and just go where life will take me.
As they say, God will never give us something we cannot handle.
All we have to do is to put a little faith on ourselves and most especially to God.

(My cartoon self! FIGHT!)
Life is a Battlefield.

One lesson I would like to share to all my readers is the value of Appreciation.
Let's not wait for someone to get sick just to wake us up from reality.
Every act big or small must be valued.

I'm just happy that I've made my Grandpa smile a lot of times.
I'm sure he knows that I love him so much.

Powder Blue

This dress I'm wearing is actually a gift from Lei, one of my closest friends way back in high school.
She's now living in Canada but I'm happy that we still do get in touch once in awhile.
Distance should never be a barrier in any relationship.
I guess it's just a matter of both parties making the effort on each other :)

Dress by Bayo

Since the dress is simple, I decided to accessorize it with a belt.
The belt is a perfect match! Don't you just agree?

Belt from Bazaar

I paired it with a bracelet set to add some fun-factor! Marc, another friend of mine gave this.
He's my stalker (not the scary type, haha). I'm lucky to have known him.
Wow, my friends kind of sponsored my entire outfit already. How I love them!

The Rider

The last time I went horseback riding was back when I was a little girl.
But if I ever do ride a horse again, this is how I'll look!

Pastel colors are my sure bet for a hot sunny day of horseback.
Soft Pink is the perfect choice to continue looking fresh all day.
Checkout my top and pants. They consist of different shades of Pink. I just love it!

Top from Tops & Totes
Pants from Muffin

Ring from Cebu

Handbag from Flavi Vismano, Italy

 Shoes from Taiwan

Just like the Rider and the Horse complementing each other,
fashion and comfort should go hand in hand!

So just be yourself and you'll be better than you know it!

Riding is a partnership. So is Fashion

Tinker Bell

Today, I am a Fairy.
Call me Tinker Bell or Tink for short! :)

I wore this dress because I wanted to celebrate the New Year looking fresh and vibrant just like the flowers from our Garden.
I wanted to attract positive energy, thus the bright and very colorful colors.
As they say, the New Year is a year for a fresh start, as well as second chances.

I feel so good with this dress because it's very light and flowy.
It's the feeling you get when you're not wearing anything at all (haha, exaggerating a bit!).
It just makes me so carefree. The asymmetrical cuts are fabulous and attention-grabbing!
This dress has proven its worth as I've received lots of compliments in this outfit.

Brands I'm wearing

Floral Dress from MINT
Belt from Muffin
Bangles from Forever21

As Oprah would say, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right!”
Happy New Year dear Readers :)
