Denim Days

Independence Day Celebration may be long over as we begin counting the days 'til July. Imagine we've finished half of 2018. This post will serve as a reminder for you and me that every day is an opportunity for us to exercise our freedom, whether that be in giving opinions or making lifelong decisions. I'm no hero for this country, but even so, I believe those little things we do and encounter daily are the chances we can take to make a difference.

Now that we have entered the rainy season, the sweater weather look will definitely be back on trend. As for me, chill weather would mean casually dressing down with denim. It's so laidback and chic that you can easily pair it with your favorite bottoms and accessories, without worrying too much whether it fits or not.

I'm wearing a denim top by Jessica Simpson and jeans from Bandolino. Thanks Simon for the shopping loot. Such a simple and casual ensemble that anyone can sport and still look chic in. Instead of the usual white sneakers, I paired mine with a nude palette from Shoo-In. Talk about Function and Fashion rolled into one.

If you're still studying, look approachable with this Girl-Next-Door combo. Don't forget to smile so that your crush won't find you intimidating and/or anti-social. Yes, first impressions are indeed important.

If you're already working, think casual Fridays and dress the look with an eyecatching scarf and perhaps some heels for a more stylish getup. Take inspiration from my previous article on being Chic and Polished.

Another way to look good in denim would be to use denim as your "accessory". One easy trick is to pick a party dress (preferably one that highlights your silhouette) and match it with a denim jacket like so. Such a lifesaver especially for sudden weather changes. You can read more about this look via my post Sweet Mess

Which denim look would you wear? Ending this post with some patriotic-feels, thanks to this huge flag in the background. Needless to say, Kudos to the Philippine Army and to all our heroes around the globe. Thank you for inspiring us that service comes in many forms :)
