Bring Out The Champagne

Ours is my favorite love story. Who would have thought that we have attended several similar occasions, but never got a chance to meet until that fateful day of 16th of February 2019. Ben is God's answered prayer to all my years of waiting. Here are some photos from our prenup shoot. 

I am wearing an Enchanting Champagne Gold Ball Gown adorned with pearls and crystal details by Designer Merri Chan. She is a budding designer to watch out for. When I met her, she was so simple, clad in a white shirt and jeans, but boy, her talent and attention to details was superb. I was blown away with her artistic eye. I am actually proud of her as she is actually a batchmate of mine back in ICA.

What is fashion for you? 

A form of self expression and a way to make people feel great about themselves. 

How would you define your personal style?

Simple and no nonsense. Prefer to dress in lounge pants and shirts for myself and unleash my creativity on dresses for other people

How long have you been in the business?

Started on mid 2017. So 4 years 

Who is your style icon and why?

Carolyn bessette-kennedy. Her style is functional for the everyday woman and really chic. Plus she's driven and goal oriented 

What is your greatest career achievement? 

I consider achievement as something that makes you really happy, not necessarily meaning you have to get accolades or public recognition. That said, accomplishing some dresses for our recent brides. They're different; not your typical bridal look and my brides rocked those dresses 

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started your own label? 

Know your brand and who you want to sell it to 

What advice would you give to young designers?

Take calculated risks, don't look down on new designers and also, know your brand

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

I love this Merri Chan ensemble because it made me look like a princess straight out of a fairytale. From the color, to the fabric and to the beadwork, it was simply divine. I felt like royalty wearing it.

Love is something you should never rush. It took me 30 years to find him and it was all worth it. I am truly blessed to have a man who loves and respects both me and my family. He really is my Prince Charming and I could not ask for more.

The Proposal

It's not easy to find a genuine kind of love. More often than not, you will experience so many heartbreaks before you finally say that you've found "The One". In my case, God spared me from this kind of pain. He made me wait to protect and prepare my heart for Ben. 

August 2, 2021 will forever be very special. Thank you for choosing me and you are the most special blessing from above.

If there's one thing I've validated when it comes to finding love, it's that you don't have to rush it just because of societal pressure. If there are any red flags, then treat it as a sign to take your time. Cheesy as it may sound, Love becomes easy when you are with the right person. 

So to everyone reading this, I hope you only settle when you know in your heart that you want to be with this person in the highest and lowest moments of your life. Keep safe!

Summer with Love Bonito

It's been more than 2 years, and yet we are still enduring this pandemic. Hopefully things will finally get better. Even though face masks have become a wardrobe staple, I still make it a point to look fashionable. I've always believed that with the right set of clothes, your mood and productivity will improve.

Sharing with you a fashion brand that I recently discovered : LOVE, BONITO

Now that it's summer, it's best to wear lighter colors to ward off the heat. I'm wearing Love Bonito's Aerin Padded Textured Knot top. I love the sage green color which is very calming to the eyes. Gold jewelry pieces are good accents for this look.

I paired it with Love Bonito's Brisa Straight Leg Culottes. I recommend white culottes for a polished and crisp look. Adding a gold belt like so adds definition to my waist.

This second look is perfect for festivities or date nights. On me is Love Bonito's Maxwe Knot front Midi dress. It is a nude color dress that has quality fabric and a very feminine design.

The design comes with a very big bow that is tied in front for an eyecatching look. You can also opt to tie it at the back should it please you. Pair this with your trusty heels. In my case, I chose black lace shoes to add some contrast to the nude color.

Lastly, who says you can't wear black during summer. The secret is just finding pieces that allow your skin to breathe. Wearing this attire in the park was comfortable and at the same time stylish.

This is Love Bonito's Essey Padded Tie Back Dress  . I love the fact that there are side pockets, a padded bust, and a breathable fabric.

I was so relaxed in this dress that I get to even play with our dog Timmy. Ain't he adorable.

Which one is your favorite Look? My personal favorite would be the first one. Summer is all about experimenting colors, prints and textures. This article just shows you that you can still wear what you like, as long as you choose the right fabrics, cuts and silhouettes.
