When I Met You

February 20. 2nd Anniversary of our 'Tiger Sugar' Conversation. I found that day funny because when Ben and I became a couple, he confessed to me how intimidated he was by me. He tried initiating numerous conversations but my answers were very short that I seemed not interested according to him. Fast forward to this day, proof that his mind actually fooled him. Good thing he made an effort to chat with me everyday, eventually realizing that behind this intimidating aura is a sweet and humorous young lady.

Today, we had Tiger Sugar to commemorate that one-of-a kind day.

Ben is by far consistent with his words and actions. Last week was indeed very memorable as it was actually a week of celebrations: from my Birthday, to Valentines, to our 1.7 years as a couple and also Chinese New Year. Here are the 2 Looks I made for the Weekend. It's amazing to see how two ensembles can instantly create two different personalities.

The 1st look is Chic and Edgy. Pairing a lace top (in my case I used a lace dress) with a houndstooth skirt makes your look casual yet put together. Finishing up with red lippies is the tried and tested trick for a captivating and sexy smile.

For my birthday, Ben cooked for me some steak and surprised me with one of the yummiest Cheesecake. My family can't stop raving about it. I love how we both share the same palate in terms of our gastronomic choices. He even gifted me with a new pair of earrings. Perfect for my growing collection. He really does know how to make me smile.

For the 2nd look, I went for something sweet and dainty. The overall look I wanted to achieve was natural and fresh. Ben describes this as "Korean-vibe" or "Anime-inspired".

He surprised me with Roses for the 14th of February. I thought I wasn't going to get one because of the Pandemic, but he still made sure my day will be special. We had a refreshing stroll in the park with our cute dog named Timmy. What made this day extra meaningful was when we danced the night away.

Even though the New Normal wasn't the way we expected things to be, I am deeply grateful because we still get to spend time with the people we love. That for me is the most important.

Which look fits me better?

Back to Basic

I don't know about you but one advantage of being Chinese is you get to celebrate special occasions TWICE! The Chinese New Year is fast approaching and so is my Birthday, which I celebrate twice by the way, as I find it pretty amusing (the not-so-good part though, you become way older, albeit wiser---hopefully. lol :)

Since it's the Month of Love already, I figured a Simple Red Dress can do the trick. Whether one is single or not, I believe a little inspiration here and there can give a lot of good vibes.

Dress from Bazaar
Sneakers from Natural World Eco, Spain
Sunnies from FLY Shades

I swear, I'm so not a T-shirt kind of girl, so if you ask me to create a basic look, one formula that works for me would be this ensemble: Simple yet attractive dress + white sneakers + sunnies = Back to Basic Look.

One of these days, I'll share with you another style recommendation by yours truly.

Let's all find and fight for the love we deserve!
Happy Love Month :)

Top 5 Kilig Moments of OTWOL that will make you believe in Love Again

This post was supposed to be for another blog site I contribute in, but since Valentines is coming, I figured it's the best time to share it :)

They say that when you get married, it should be with the right person and with the right intentions; But with Clark (James Reid) and Leah (Nadine Lustre), who both star in the romcom series On The Wings of Love aka OTWOL, it was the complete opposite. Leah married Clark just to get a green card while Clark played along for extra income as well as to return favors for his Aunt Jack. But before they know it, love caught up on them, and this time for real.

Here’s a little snippet of how their bittersweet romance all started. Watch this.

On The Wings Of Love: Wedding

On The Wings Of Love: First dance

So whether you’re a fan of OTWOL or not, this 5 kilig scenes (in no particular order) will make you believe in love again. Whether you had your heart broken or still a hopeless romantic, a man like Clark Medina is every girl’s dream guy:

1)               1 When he helps you fulfill your heart’s desire, no matter how impossible it may seem. Case in point: Clark recreates PROM, a special moment in every girl’s life, for Leah. Who could blame Leah for falling in love? A man like Clark is a keeper.

On The Wings Of Love: Preparation

On The Wings Of Love: Sweetest Surprise

2)               2 When he professes to you with all sincerity that you are his top priority, regardless of any worldly thing he holds valuable. Always remember that the guy who commits and comes back to you is one that is worth fighting for. Find out what Clark would do for Leah.

On The Wings Of Love: "Kapag mahal ka, babalikan ka"

3)               When he looks at you like you’re the only girl that matters.

On The Wings Of Love: Napa Valley

On The Wings Of Love: Hugs and Kisses

4)               When he spends endless days with you and starts discussing about the future --- with you and him in the picture.

On The Wings Of Love: Getting real

On The Wings Of Love: Future Home

5)              When he tells you that his heart only belongs to you and that you are his reason for believing that love is wonderful and not bitter. Find out what Clark does for Leah to make things right.

On The Wings Of Love: My heart's always with you

On The Wings Of Love: The Proposal

If there’s one thing that we can learn from the story of Clark and Leah, it’s that love can never be forced. One must continue to pursue the other even after courtship because that’s when the relationship truly starts. Stay tuned for last few episodes of OTWOL, it will be worth it! Happy Valentines Day! :)

Vintage Romance

How has your 2015 been so far? I hope things have been extraordinary! :)
Today's post is special because aside from my usual OOTD,
this look of mine serves 2 other purposes,
(Yes, you've guessed it right),
PROM and VALENTINES DAY.

It's not every day that girls get to experience being all-glammed up,
so for extra special events like these, I'm here to give some advice :)

Believe me or not, it may actually take days and even months (for some!)
to plan and create the perfect ensemble.

If u ask me, instead of choosing the usual LBD or LWD,
why not go for a Little Red Dress this time around.

Whether you're off to a date with your significant other or
to attend a grand ball as Cinderella,
Red should be a color that every girl must consider.

Red makes you look sweet and confident.
It gives you that charming glow

and at the same time some breath of mystery.

Remember, the key to any outfit are its details.
You don't need to over-accessorize to look like a million-dollar babe.

Like for instance, I wanted something classy, yet vintage looking,
so an off-shoulder lace dress is my best bet.
Add some pearls, wear some leopard pumps and voila!
An irresistibly stylish you.

If you're feeling a bit edgy,
then feel free to complement your look with an ultra chic sweater.
In my case, I chose a boyish cover-up to balance the look.

As for the hairstyle, I suggest letting your hair down.
I'd go with some sexy curls to vamp up your look.

And while we're at it, I would like to suggest a new product by Pantene:
3 Minute Miracle Conditioner
I've tried it and it does create wonders especially considering I style my hair everyday.
Cliche as it may sound, your hair is your crowning glory so condition it well :)

And  lastly, as they say,
you're never fully dressed without a smile.

A smile can in fact be your best asset and boys go gaga over it.

Now that you're all set, remember to have fun :)

Dressing well is just one step to making the first impression,
so make sure that impression lasts :)

And oh before I end this post, check this out!
My pets posing for the camera :)

For those of you who are wondering where I got my burgundy dress,
it's from ROMWE, one of my favorite global online shops :)

Pair it with this leopard pumps from Payless ShoeSource, Inc.
and you'll look hot in no time. That's comfort and style all rolled into one!

Hope you enjoyed this special post.

I'll bring you more of these prom inspirations and date looks
in my succeeding posts.

Love lots <3

Roses are Red

So it's Love Month again.

Couple holding hands while walking...
Fresh roses being delivered...
Surprises being made here and there...
...All for the effort of Love.

Though I don't have someone special yet, I just love seeing people fall in love.
How I just wish that people were like this every single day.
I'll be sharing with you some tidbits of my love life in the latter part of this post
so keep reading my dear readers.

But First, how did I welcome Valentines Day? By Wearing Red.

Larraby Dress by Plains and Prints

I intentionally wore red to deceive people that I have a date on this special day
and guess what, it actually did work. Haha! Anyways, this beautiful dress I am wearing is from
the China Collection of Plains and Prints.

I just love this dress because of its asymmetrical cuts and very striking color.
It's very light and flowy, simply perfect for a date or a night out with friends.
It requires minimal accessories as it can do all the talking.

___________________________________

I'm a very sentimental and nostalgic person if you know me well.
Back in high school and college, I'd say I did receive quite a number of flowers and gifts from suitors.
Every time I'd receive a bouquet of flowers, I'd make sure that I' preserve some of its petals
and up to this day I still have them. All the letters and pictures of my friends are also kept in a very special box.
I'd keep everything or at least preserve a memory of it. I'm a sucker for this haha :))

So are you wondering who I got these presents from this 14th of February 2013?

Well, this time it's not from a guy.
This came from none other than my very close friend Jasmin.
She wanted me to feel all the love this Valentines
and she was indeed successful to make me feel special.

Truth is, I realized that Valentines is not just for couples
but also a way of appreciating the goodness in someone.
 It's all about SHARED LOVE.
Jas is indeed a sister to me and I thank God that
I have her as one of my best friends.

Every Girl loves to receive flowers.
There's just something with it that makes me swoon or have butterflies in my stomach.

So I guess since its the season of Love, memories have been haunting me lately (in a good way though)

I won't divulge all as some are really personal but here are some of the sweetest memories/ kilig moments
that I cherish up until now that were done by mostly different guys:

- A basketball game was offered for me "This Game is For you"
- I being part of his Dream
- Him cutting some classes just to teach me
- Receiving a Bear and a letter right before a difficult test
- Receiving a text in the middle of class telling me to go down because he bought some Starbucks for me
- Dropping by my house and bringing some sweets to cheer me up after some bad test result
-Being my doctor/ rescue when I injured my feet. Toenails were bleeding. He temporarily cleaned my wound
-Giving me his Blue Rose in Ateneo
- When someone said "I will not go to this (event) if it's not you I'm going with

Okay, I guess that's more than enough. I'm getting carried away already =*)

Cupid might still be busy with other people but someday I wish I'll get to meet my better half. I don't know if he is just around the corner or I have met him already, but no matter what, I just hope that when that time comes, I'll just know.

I guess Love comes by when you least expect it. I just hope that the guy I will fall in love with will stick with me through thick and thin. Someone who would still open the car door for me. Someone who would consider my feelings. Someone who would be proud to introduce me to his family and friends. In other words, someone who would make me feel special always.

And when that time comes that I finally say YES to him, I do hope that he will still continuously pursue me and make me feel that I am his world. Who doesn't want her fairy tale to come true right? Someday, I will meet him and hopefully he will be my first and last.

Love,
