When I Met You

February 20. 2nd Anniversary of our 'Tiger Sugar' Conversation. I found that day funny because when Ben and I became a couple, he confessed to me how intimidated he was by me. He tried initiating numerous conversations but my answers were very short that I seemed not interested according to him. Fast forward to this day, proof that his mind actually fooled him. Good thing he made an effort to chat with me everyday, eventually realizing that behind this intimidating aura is a sweet and humorous young lady.

Today, we had Tiger Sugar to commemorate that one-of-a kind day.

Ben is by far consistent with his words and actions. Last week was indeed very memorable as it was actually a week of celebrations: from my Birthday, to Valentines, to our 1.7 years as a couple and also Chinese New Year. Here are the 2 Looks I made for the Weekend. It's amazing to see how two ensembles can instantly create two different personalities.

The 1st look is Chic and Edgy. Pairing a lace top (in my case I used a lace dress) with a houndstooth skirt makes your look casual yet put together. Finishing up with red lippies is the tried and tested trick for a captivating and sexy smile.

                      

For my birthday, Ben cooked for me some steak and surprised me with one of the yummiest Cheesecake. My family can't stop raving about it. I love how we both share the same palate in terms of our gastronomic choices. He even gifted me with a new pair of earrings. Perfect for my growing collection. He really does know how to make me smile.

For the 2nd look, I went for something sweet and dainty. The overall look I wanted to achieve was natural and fresh. Ben describes this as "Korean-vibe" or "Anime-inspired".

                         

He surprised me with Roses for the 14th of February. I thought I wasn't going to get one because of the Pandemic, but he still made sure my day will be special. We had a refreshing stroll in the park with our cute dog named Timmy. What made this day extra meaningful was when we danced the night away.

Even though the New Normal wasn't the way we expected things to be, I am deeply grateful because we still get to spend time with the people we love. That for me is the most important.

Love At First Bite

This pandemic has caused fear in the hearts of humanity. We all struggle to thrive in order to survive. If there's any sort of consolation, it's being able to discover new or existing food brands that are worth supporting for our gastronomic needs. One of my recommendations is MUM'S Lasagna.

                        

It was my boyfriend who actually first introduced this to me. Despite any distance brought about by the previous lockdowns, he wanted to keep me sane by sending me some comfort food. Up until today, I continuously make orders because for me it is one of the best lasagnas I have ever tasted. Even my family agrees with me. The lasagna comes in a red box complete with Reheating instructions, but of course it's best eaten once delivered fresh and hot.

   

Once opened, you would be surprised with how much oozing cheese and beef they packed. I would say the servings are generous and the taste is indeed Premium. It's something your family or friends can enjoy over Netflix, Boardgames et al.

Compared to other bakers, their pricing is on the high side, but trust me when I say it is worth trying even once. They don't skimp on ingredients and ensure they deliver the best quality for overall client satisfaction. Aside from All Beef, they have other lasagna variants such as Chicken or Pork. My personal favorite is All Beef. What I ordered was the Family Tray which is more or less good for 5 to 6 pax.

  

You may be stuck at home but you still have the liberty of satisfying your palate. Mums is a definitely a Good Choice. They will soon open a restaurant, that's how well loved and in demand they are.  I am thus  recommending this lasagna brand for all my readers to try. 

It's even interesting to note that they added a new dish which is Mum's Honey Roasted Chicken. I haven't tried it, but hopefully one day I can :)

Quarantine Must Haves

We have been in quarantine for more than half a year already. This new normal is making us all anxious and paranoid at the same time. So I've come up with some of my personal must haves to protect myself from the deadly virus. After all, the moment we learn to take care of ourselves is when we also get to take care of our lovedones.

First on my list is a handy purse to keep all my essentials. Whenever I have quick errands, I make it a point to pack with me Isopropyl Alcohol, face mask, Vitamin C and my little confidence boosters. My current favorite is this pink clutch from Bayong Manila. It is so sturdy and chic.

Second must-have is a Waterproof bag that can double as a grocery bag when the need arises. No one has control of the weather so make sure to keep a foldable bag with you to protect your luxury or well-loved bag in good condition. If you're planning to get a couple of canned goods and hygiene essentials, this bag is a lifesaver. I'm using an Autumn prints design from OhMyBagPhils 

                        

Next on my list are Essential Oils to keep me sane. Covid is also a silent killer that can affect our mental health. These days I have a hard time sleeping as my mind is occupied with so many things that I had to rely on scents to calm my senses. I find the Lavender Essential Oil from FragranceBoxPh effective in destressing me at the comfort of my own home. 

    

Dust Bags are necessary to protect your well-loved bags and purses from dirt and moisture. It can also be used as extra storage and protection when you travel as it comes with an identification slot. You can label it as you wish, from the type of bag you're using to personalizing it with your name. You can even insert a small trinket like so to remind people that it's your property. On Lockdown

Now that NCR is on official community lockdown due to Covid-19 , let's all take care and fervently pray for our frontliners particularly our dear doctors and nurses. Let's also include grocery personnel, cashiers, bank tellers, food deliveries in our thoughts and prayers as they assist all of us in this trying times.

The fact that I'm home being able to write this, and you being able to read this means that we are more or less blessed with good health. Let's keep it that way by following the directives of the government to stay home. If you need to go out, just make sure it is only to buy basic necessities such as food and medicine. If there's one thing this pandemic has reminded me to do, it's to count our blessings and appreciate the people around us. Hence, I'm writing this post to remember.

February 16, 2020. Ben and I watched my favorite artist Boyce Avenue. He bought tickets very early to surprise me. I'm happy to have someone like him who actually remembers the things I cherish. That day actually marks the anniversary when we first met.

Back then Covid-19 was still contained so the concert pushed thru; we had to wear masks and sanitize as much as we can to protect ourselves. Who would have thought that this was actually the last social event we would attend. I really do hope our scientists and doctors find an immediate vaccine for this. It's affecting hundreds of thousands of families all over the world and killing our economies. For now, social-distancing and home quarantine first. It's for the best.

I Belong to the Zoo and December Avenue entertained us before the concert proper of B.A. Such amazing local artists we have. Their songs are full of hugots , but very realistic in this day and age.
