An Undiscovered Gem

Being a businesswoman is no easy feat. The amount of time and effort invested on a daily basis can take a toll on your physical, mental and emotional health. If you're like me who is feeling stressed out lately, then a quick escape is the best way to recharge and clear your mind off things.

This weekend, why not take a well deserved breather. For a relaxed vibe, go for a look that is chic and casual. My personal recommendation are dresses in earth tones and interesting cuts. For eyecatching dresses, I recommend  this Women Summer Dress

The place I want to transport you in is Marcia Adams, Tagaytay. I fell in love the moment I stepped foot on this place. Call it an Oasis or a Secret Garden. It took around 3 hours to reach this place because we left for Tagaytay at peak hour, around 2pm, plus never knew inflation applies to traffic as well. Back then, traveling to Tagaytay was just around 1.5 hours; Well, the secret to smooth driving' is good music and good company. The escapade was definitely worth it. No regrets.

The restaurant boasts a collection of dining areas which is reminiscent of different places in the world each with its own character and breathtaking views.  I didn't get the chance to ask the names of each room so I decided to give them my own.

Dining Area 1-Ivy At The Shore
This area reminds me of the ambiance of the famous restaurant Ivy At The Shore in Santa Monica, California

Dining Area 2-Winterfell
Coolest place in the compound with interiors reminiscent of the famous northern stronghold of the Stark Family in GOT

Dining Area 3-The Sanctuary
A garden that you can enjoy solo , in pairs or in groups

Dining Area 4-Tuscany
By far the most beautiful and intimate dining area;  The Tuscan setting is so homey and watching the sunset through the window was just as romantic and surreal.

For dinner, these are my top recommendations:

Certified Angus Steak with Truffle Butter- One of the Best Steaks I've ever eaten in my entire existence. The strong truffle flavor of the butter just compliments the succulent steak which is seared to perfection. Degree of Doneness: Medium. Trust me, worth every calorie.

Carbonara Special -White sauce over Red, any time; a certified carbonara lover here! This is Marcia Adam’s own unique twist to the Italian classic.  Also a must try!

Fish Souvlaki -Not really a big fan of kebabs but this certainly is an exception.  The fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly that it literally melted in my mouth.  The garlicky sauce and rice were just the perfect complement.

Grilled Orange with Vanilla Ice Cream / Strawberry Yoghurt Ice Cream with Berry Compote/ Panna Cotta with Lemon Sauce - Need I say more. They taste as good as they look. You get to choose your preferred dessert for every main course you order. Just lovely.

And oh, this is also a romantic place that you and your significant other can enjoy. You can either watch the sunset together or be serenaded with good music.

Thank you so much Marcia Adams!  This experience was the perfect “reset button” for my crazy schedule.  Definitely one of the best Saturdays ever. I will be back in the future, this time longer. (bps)

Fancy Meeting You

It's been a while since i wrote about food so I figured what's the point of dressing up if you can't go out looking good? If you know me well, I would always choose dining in a quality restaurant over bars and booze any time of day.  I'd prefer to end the night subtly with either coffee, wine or an irresistible dessert. For fancier nights, I'd choose a dress in a deep shade of orange or red like so.

Just recently, I got the privilege to dine (for the first time) in Kazunori. To my surprise, it is a top notch modern Japanese Restaurant that has been operating for quite a while. Quality of Food and Service is very commendable.

The restaurant prides itself by importing quality seafood straight from Japan on a daily basis. It also deviates from being a traditional Japanese restaurant by offering modern twists to classic favorites.

So here's the dishes that filled my hungry tummy

Salmon Sashimi (very good quality!)

Unagi Sushi (proportion of the eel is so much bigger than the rice! Yum)

Ikura Sushi (salmon eggs) , Chutoro Sushi (semi-fatty tuna), and
Imported Ika Sushi (has a firmer texture compared to local variety)

Gyutan (grilled beef tongue) which is a must try! Comes with two varieties of chili sauces

Buta Kushi Miso

Kazunori’s very own twist to Soba Noodles.
You basically dip the soba noodles in a sweet and spicy broth filled with
thinly sliced and marbled Japanese beef
(similar to the Korean beef stew Galbi Jjim).  I like the twist!

And since I'm a “rice person”, an order of Katsudon!

Thank you so much for the exquisite dinner experience Kazunori! How I wish I had the appetite to order more. Kidding aside, this was dinner for two people who enjoy good food with great appetite. There are more modern dishes to try like Uni Cream Spaghettini, Mentaiko Pizza, Beef Curry among others which I'll be back for next time .  Looking forward to sharing with you another dining experience. (bps)
