Garden Bloom

A few more hours 'til 2014! Oh how time flies.
As I welcome the new year, I thought of wearing something cheerful and vibrant.

For my casual look, I got my Kimono Blazer from Soigné Clothing
and Froylan City shorts from Plains and Prints.

Kimono blazers are my sure bet for a bipolar weather like the Philippines.
They come in handy any time of day.
Pair it with eye-catching shorts and you'll look fab.

Florals never go out of style.
They are so chic and casual.
Don't you agree? :)

As you make your personal Resolutions this New Year,
I do hope you don't forget one important detail and that is
TO SMILE MORE.

Cheers,

Christmas Classic

A Merry Christmas to all my readers!!! :)

Pink or Peach would be one my recommended colors for the Holidays.

For the clothing style, I would say that Peplum dresses are still in.
They are so versatile that you can wear them in various occasions.
All you need to do is mix and match with your favorite heels and accessories.

Since I'm just going to the mall and having a Christmas dinner with my family,
I only wore few accessories and a comfortable pair of walking shoes.

The dress did all the talking

Dress by Tops & Totes
Bracelets by Forever21 and H&M
Shoes by Melissa

I hope that we all remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Let us find love and happiness in the company of each other.

Material gifts are just things.
The more relevant ones are those that money can't buy.
Family, friends, workmates and of course CHRIST.
Smile and have fun! :)

Cheers!

Aztec

Skater skirts are known for their versatile and very flattering silhouettes.
While there are a hundred of ways on how to rock a skater skirt, I chose to wear it a little different.

Using a skater skirt as an accessory, I made my own version of a Peplum.
Peplums are overskirts or ruffles that are attached to a blouse, dress or bodice.
I wore a bandage skirt under in order to emphasize the Peplum effect.

The trick to getting very nice Peplums is choosing the right design.
This skater skirt from Soigné Clothing did just that.
Aztec prints have become the style du jour amongst stylish teenagers.
It's young, hip and upbeat!

Just remember that when it comes to fashion, one does not need to be conventional.
Mix and match while you're young!
And most of all, Have fun :)

Fashion for a Cause

Coco Chanel once said

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.
  Fashion is in the sky, in the street;
Fashion has to do with ideas,
the way we live, what is happening.”

By now, you must have a hint of what I'm talking about.
If you've looked closely, I'm wearing a T-shirt.

For those who know me well, you'll say "no way".
She rarely wears T-shirts.

But this shirt is just special.
It's close to my heart because it is for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Something I'd definitely be proud of wearing.
If you've read my previous post, I'm sure you know that I for one
have been very active in supporting relief drive operations.

So here are 2 more ways to help make a difference.
And guess what, it's something very close to me: Fashion.

Remember, no act is too big or small.
All you have to do is to have that heart for others.

OPTION 1: Support "A Dress For A Shirt" Campaign

For every Plains & Prints Dress you purchase in the boutique,
you get to donate 1 Shirt for the victims of the Visayas Region.
The shirt will be donated to charity through Philippine Red Cross.
Imagine, you get to help others while shopping. Now that's shopping for a cause.

Fret not! Plains & Prints has so many dresses to choose from.
As a fashion stylist, I highly recommend that you check their Holiday Dresses this season.

They also have the "Fire Collection" and "Camo-Chic Collection" to bring out
the confident You this Christmas.

Oh how I wish to become a brand ambassador of this brand.
That's how much I love Plains & Prints. You'll know why.
Checkout these photos!

As a loyal shopper of Plains & Prints, I am proud to say that their designs are
perfect for women who are in love with both fashion and comfort.
Why sacrifice one when you can have both right? :)

So which dress was your favorite? In my case, I have more than One!

OPTION 2: Support "Pledge One, Share Two" Campaign

For every shirt you pledge for Typhoon Yolanda Victims, Plains & Prints will match
your pledge to double your total donation. You can visit www.plainsandprints.com
Now that's Fashion with a Heart.

Hoping that I'm able to inspire most if not all of you to start caring.
If you're reading this post of mine, then you're indeed lucky to be spared from such.
I for one am blessed to have not experienced the tragedy during my stay in Iloilo.

God has his ways and I am indeed thankful to Him.
So a big shout-out to everyone to support these 2 campaigns,
as well as support the victims in any way you can.

You may not know them, but they need you.

While doing your Christmas shopping, there are also some cute finds that I'm sure
you'll find very interesting.

Here are my Top Picks this Christmas :)

I got these!!! Thank you Plains & Prints.
Perfect for the Kikay Me! :)

Black and Gold Trio Bangles!
One of my recommended color combinations this Christmas.
Perfect for any outfit. Will make you look fab in no time.

And of course, their lovely collection of dresses
Happy Shopping Everyone!

Now I leave you with this inspiring quote from Alicia Keys.

"The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes
and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside.
That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world."

Wishing you all a Cuddly Christmas!

Catching Waves

I'm Back my dear readers! :)
I apologize for my long absence as I have been busy heading a relief drive
for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.

It was an exhausting month indeed, but to be able to help out
as much as you can is beyond happiness.

These photos were taken during our trip to Iloilo for our cousin's wedding.
Imagine, my sister and I being bound for Iloilo 1 day before
the Supertyphoon Yolanda hit landfall... Just our luck.

Our parents were so scared and asked us to delay our flight to another date.
Being so stubborn, my sister and I pushed thru because we never
thought that the typhoon will be as catastrophic as weather reports say.

God must have His Ways of showing Himself,
as during the day of the Wedding, we were blessed with good weather.

Thank you Lord for keeping us safe.
Just look at how beautiful Achi Kristine's little Angels are.

Kudos to their fashion designer!
Some quick candid shots of the entourage.

The beautiful sisters beside me are my cousins!
Last time I check, they are still single :))
(wink wink)

With one of my favorite cousin!
The pretty Esha :)

Another fave of mine... Zachy! Our super cute and adorable cousin.
This boy is so into cars! He will be a smashing racer someday!

With his looks, I'm pretty sure girls would love to meet him.
But of course, only one will be proclaimed as his princess.

Now back to my fashion world!
When it comes to attending Weddings,
Maxi dresses are the perfect choice.
You don't have to show too much skin
because after all it's a solemn celebration.

Don't get me wrong though because you can still look sexy with it.
My peg was in fact a Goddess.
Someone fresh and youthful for an occasion as beautiful as this!

FH|Folded and Hung Maxi Dress

I'm wearing a Folded & Hung maxi dress.
Folded & Hung is one of the leading local fashion brands and
boasts its position as a major fashion label trendsetter.

For Weddings, I highly recommend choosing pastel colors or
colors that calm the eye. In my case, I chose Teal.

Styling maxi dresses are easy.
1) Pair it with heels to have that oomph.
2) No need to accessorize much because these dresses
are very elegant and stylish.

I chose to wear a flower crown to
accentuate my Goddess-Peg.

At the end of the day,
Style is all about having a sense of fun and creativity in what you wear.

This picture actually reminds me of the Arabian Nights!

Now back to more pictures of the Wedding.

All the youngsters in the photos are my cousins!
Surprisingly, we are a big family and I feel old!!! :))

Seeing Achi Kristine get married gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Being able to witness a wedding as beautiful as this is just surreal.

Truth is, it also got me into thinking...
and wishing that someday it will be my turn in front of the altar.
I may not have a significant other as of now,
but hopefully in God's perfect timing, I will meet him.

Before I get any more dramatic,
photos of the parents of the lovely bride and groom.

This is one of my fave candid shots as they all look very happy.

It's time to seal the marriage ceremony with a Kiss!
Wishing both of you all the love and happiness that life can offer.

Now, who's next in line?  :)

Time for the Reception.
Just look at this magical place!
I felt like a princess attending a grand ball.
But this time it was no ordinary gala.

With my cousin Tiffany. She's available for kai shao :))

Seeing all these pictures makes me miss everyone!!!!
Hope you enjoyed my Special feature :)

I included below more pics of our days spent in Iloilo.
It was indeed memorable.

____________________________________________

Lastly dear readers, I felt the need to include this in my post.

Typhoon Yolanda or Haiyan may have been beyond catastrophic...
Claiming thousand of lives and injuring countless Filipinos...
Leaving people homeless and terrified;
Not knowing who they can lean on at times like this.

Kudos to every person who volunteered to help out.
Kudos to every person who took some time off to share their blessings.
Thank you for giving the victims hope.

For me, no amount of help is too small or big.
As for me, aside from giving some cash donations, I headed a relief drive
in the building, encouraging people to give some in-kind donations.
I am glad by the response of the many companies.

At the end of the day, it's not about pointing fingers on
who's to blame. It's about reaching out to people and giving them
all the right reasons to hold on.

Take care everyone!

Love,
