Black is the New Clean

I'll keep it short but sweet.
Women are the most beautiful when they feel good about themselves.

So if there's one style staple that every girl must own,
it's the famous Little Black Dress aka LBD.
Trust me, that extra oomph will make wonders!

For style aficionados out there, this dress of mine is from ROMWE.

By now, you've probably heard this a million times:
---That Black makes you look Sexy;

But what most people don't know is that
Black is the New Clean.

Ironic as it may sound, you might ask me, in what way?
Well, it's all about Palmolive Naturals' newest soap,
Palmolive Naturals Flawless Clean
infused with 100% natural charcoal powder.

I know, I know, an instant reaction would be, "Charcoal??? That's dirty!"
Before you judge though, do give it a shot because charcoal powder actually
helps wash away dirt from the skin leaving it soft to touch.

It's the first of its kind that will leave you feeling clean and flawless all day.
It's time for you to discover the New Clean.

Fall in love with black and join me in a beautiful affair to remember :)

The Dreamer

Today's post brings some nostalgia as this was my graduation dress back then.
I managed to find this thru my stack of clothes in the closet.
You can probably guess how old this dress is.

Little black dresses or LBDs are very good investments.
With the right style and silhouette, they will remain a classic!

Dress from Apartment8

Since I'm no longer a student,
I paired it with some chic heels for a more playful peg.

A big congratulations to the recent graduates of University of the Philippines.
Special mention to Tiffany Grace Uy, Summa Cum Laude of UP.

I may not personally know her but more than the grades she obtained,
I am impressed by her passion to contribute to medicinal research
particularly in the field of breast cancer.

It's not everyday that you get to hear young people talk about service and
love for country and I salute her for that.

If there's one thing I learned in the corporate world as well as in my craft as
fashion blogger, it's that you have to have a lot of heart in what you do.
For one to be successful, one should be consistent and committed.
Always have the end goal in mind, because in that way,
you are reminded of what you want and
that's where you draw inspiration from.

Life is a blessing and we should learn to celebrate and cherish it.

Go Graphic

If there's one color combination that every girl should have in her closet,
it should be none other than black and white.

This color palette is universally flattering as it suits any body type.
Well-loved by celebrities, B&W is the secret to being fashion forward.

Another trick to look effortlessly chic in a black and white dress is
to choose graphic prints and monochromatic patterns.

Always remember that Prints make you look young and alive.
They add personality in your fashion ensemble.
Don't be afraid to play with prints as it could surprisingly be your style asset.

Pop Star

Hello dear readers!
Ever dreamt of being a Pop Star for a day?
Here's a little fashion inspiration by yours truly.

I wore this ensemble to Rockwell and I easily stole everyone's attention.
I won't say that everyone did like my look though ('coz that would be impossible).
60% likers and 40% bashers (probably, lol)

At the end of the day, it's all a matter of personal style and comfort.

But damn, I did feel like a Korean Pop Star because everyone literally stared.
Want an autograph? :)

Bella

Every Girl wants to be the Belle of the ball.
As she enters the room, everyone present gazes at her ethereal beauty.
Oh boy, forgive me, I must be dreaming again... how enchanting this could be.

I call  this look
"SWEET CLASSIC"

To get this Look is really simple:

STEP 1:  Pick a dress with a neutral color like black, white, or beige.
It should be as simple as possible.

In my case, I chose my LBD from Forever21 as my basic piece.

STEP 2:  Choose accessories that can add to your femininity.
Flower crowns are my favorite. However, if this is too bold for you,
then you could wear a headband, a ribbon or a clip for a sweet look.

STEP 3:  Add Gold Accents
This incredible color is the secret to getting the glam factor.
Just look at the clothes of Greek Goddesses.
One tip to look ethereal without getting overboard.

STEP 4:  SMILE
Boys go GAGA with a girl's smile.
You don't own all the problems in the world,
so once in awhile do what makes you happy.
You owe that to yourself.

Bangles from Forever21

I'm sure you've noticed that everything I'm wearing is from Forever21.
I love this brand because it's a perfect fit to my personality.
Fun, feminine and Stylish;
 Yet extremely Versatile

For the record, this post is by no means sponsored by Forever21.
Hopefully someday, I do get a chance to become one of their brand ambassadors
or at least collaborate with them for any fashion event.

Big dream I know, but for those of you who are my loyal followers,
I'm sure you know about my Runway Gig.
It's something I won't forget. An opportunity I'm forever grateful for :)

Femme Fatale

To spice things up a bit, I'm bringing Femme Fatale back with a twist.
Here's a sneak peak of what to expect.

When it comes to fashion, there are 3 things that most women dislike

A)  That she be caught wearing the same piece of clothing
B)  That she meet her doppelganger and be fashion policed as to who wore it better, and
C)  That she has nothing to wear (though her closet is full, how ironic)

I know, I know. It sounds superficial or trivial, but I’m sure that you’ve heard one of these statements from your friends, colleagues and even from yourself.

I for one am guilty, but that was then, because now I finally got my secret weapon: My LBD

LBD by Forever21

That Little Black Dress inside your closet can be your best friend or worst enemy, depending on how you use it of course. If you have worn your LBD for countless times without changing your look, then say hello to plain old boring Jane.

However, if you’re like me who loves to experiment by mixing and matching clothes, then creativity and attitude are all you need to make that look work.

I'll be featuring each of my looks so stay tuned!
Which look is your favorite? Feel free to drop a comment :)

Glitter in Black

"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
                                                          -Karl Lagerfeld

What I wore to today's meeting?
A Little Black Peplum Dress!

As expected, people just came in casual attire. But as part of the event,
I didn't mind putting some extra effort to dress up as an executive :)
My dress in fact has glitters all over. Some are actually captured in the camera.
Just pair your LBD with nude pumps and you'll look fab!

I may be overdressed or whatnot, but I'm  happy that I did look great
with the compliments I got from random people.

"It’s a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style,
wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together."

ShadowPlay

In every girl's wardrobe, a black dress is considered staple.
Whether you're out on a date, out partying or just having some business affairs to attend to,
you will never go wrong with it. It's just a matter of having the right accessories and you're good to go.

Since my schedule for the day is to meet a VIP, I need to dress to impress.
The key is to look simple, yet still mean business.
So in my case, I just got a knee-length dress to not go overboard.
Accessorizing with pearls is just classic. I chose nude heels to complete the look.

This photo actually makes me remember Westlife's song entitled Shadows
Oh, Those were the Boy band days (haha)

♩ ♪ ♫ ♬

But I see shadows
Everywhere that I go
It's you, reminding me
Of how we were
Of how it was..

♩ ♪ ♫ ♬

Cliche as it may sound, our past makes us who we are now.
All our laughter and tears inspire us to be someone more.
Hopefully, for the better. Just find some inspiration and you'll go a long way :)
